Common Queries

What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?

Accelerated resolution therapy, or ART, is a type of therapy that combines principles from several traditional forms of psychotherapy to reduce the effect of trauma and other psychological stressors. Using techniques such as rapid eye movement and image rescripting, this approach works to recondition stressful memories, changing how they are stored in the brain to improve overall mental health.

People seeking therapy to reduce the impact of symptoms related to traumatic or stress-inducing memories or increase their capacity for resilience within a relatively short timeframe may find ART beneficial.

How long does each therapy session take?

Most single sessions are scheduled for 55 minutes. We offer in person and tele-therapy sessions to best serve our clients.

What are some of the techniques you use in your Therapy sessions?

I am a certified Accelerated Resolution Therapist but also utilize Cognitive Behavioral and Cognitive Processing Therapies and EMDR to deal with the most severe trauma cases.  I have years of helping couples using the Gottman method, which focuses on seven components of a healthy relationship.

Do you work with children?

I have years of working with children of all ages including toddlers, children, preteens, and teenagers. I work with these age groups to build the skills early in life that will make them stronger and more resilient. Often the children come out of therapy with a new appreciation of the control they have over their own emotions and how they can manage challenging situations.
